Competition Rules

General

Players will predict if songs competing in the semi-finals will qualify for the Eurovision Song Contest Final.

Players will then predict the position and points for every song in the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Points Scoring
Players will score 5 points for each song they correctly predict will qualify for the final.

Therefore, players can score a maximum of 100 points for correctly predicting the 20 songs that qualify for the Eurovision Song Contest Final from the semi-finals.

Players will also predict the position and points for every song in the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest.  Every prediction will then be compared with every song's actual position and place.

If a song's actual position is correctly predicted by a player they will score 12 points for that song.  If a player prediction is one placing different from the song's actual placing they will score 10 points, two placings different will score 8 points, three placings different will score 7 points, four placings different will score 6 points, five placings different will score 5 points, six placings different will score 4 points, seven placings different will score 3 points, eight placings different will score 2 points and nine placings different will score 1 point.  If a player's prediction is 10 or more more placings different from the song's actual placing they will score 0 points for that song.

Therefore, players can score a maximum of 312 points for correctly placing the 26 songs competing in the Eurovision Song Contest Final.

If a song's actual points score is correctly predicted by a player they will also score 12 points for that song.

Therefore, players can also score a maximum of 312 points for correctly scoring the 26 songs competing in the Eurovision Song Contest Final.

In total, a maximum points score of 724 points can be scored by correctly predicting all the 20 qualifying songs and correctly placing and scoring all 26 songs competing in the Eurovision Song Contest Final.

A prediction points difference (PPD) is also calculated for each player.  PPD will be used to separate players who score the same amount of points.  (You can think of PPD like goal difference in sport)  PPD is the sum of the differences of the points of all their score predictions against the actual points scored by each song in the Eurovision Song Contest Final.

If a song does not qualify for the final but a player predicts that it will, the PPD for that song will be the points the player predicted the song would score.  Similarly, if a song does qualify for the final but a player predicts that it will not, the PPD for that song will be the points that the song scored in the final.

​The best PPD that can be scored is 0.

Ties

If two (or more) players have the same points total in the competition, the PPD (from lowest to highest) will be used to rank these players.

​If two (or more) players have the same points total and PPD in the competition, then the number of correct placings (from highest to lowest) will be used to rank these players.

​If two (or more) players have the same points total, PPD and correct placings, then the number of correct scorings (from highest to lowest) will be used to rank these players.

​If two (or more) players have the same points total, PPD, correct placings and correct scorings then rankings will be completed by random between these players.

Song Disqualifications/Withdrawals

If a song is disqualified or withdraws from the competition and this happens on or after 10th May 2025 19:00 UTC;

- If the song is disqualified or withdrawn from a semi-final, the competition will score this song as though it did not qualify for the final.

- If the song is disqualified or withdrawn from the final, the competition will score this song as scoring 0 points and ranking in last place in the final.  Players will still score 5 points if they correctly predicted that this song would qualify for the final.

If a song is disqualified or withdrawn from the competition before 10th May 2025 19:00 UTC, this song will be removed from the competition.  (This may result in players having to amend their predictions)
